Benefits of Hormone Pellet Therapy for Women

Women can suffer from both low testosterone and low estrogen levels, especially during the transition through perimenopause and menopause. Hot flashes, fatigue, unpredictable mood swings, and brain fog are all real and debilitating symptoms of low hormone levels. In an effort to find relief and improve their overall wellbeing, many women turn to testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) or estrogen replacement therapy (ERT), both of which can correct hormonal imbalance.

At TheraPellET, we use our patented Virden Method™, providing superior comfort and results. Unlike traditional methods that use a sharp trocar, our blunt-edged, atraumatic trocar minimizes bleeding, bruising, and discomfort. It’s a more gentle approach that leads to effective and predictable hormone absorption.

Benefits of Estrogen Replacement Therapy

Benefits of Testosterone Replacement Therapy

Benefits of Hormone Pellet Therapy for Women Include:

Consistent Hormone Levels

Hormone pellet therapy carries a vital benefit not seen in traditional methods—consistency. Unlike daily pills, creams, or patches, which can cause hormonal spikes and drops, pellet therapy slowly releases a steady dose of estrogen and/or testosterone over several months. The result is more uniform symptom relief from side effects like hot flashes, brain fog, and low libido.

Relief from Menopause Symptoms

Hormone pellet therapy using bioidentical estrogen can combat disruptive menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes and night sweats. ERT also addresses vaginal dryness and discomfort, improving intimacy and urinary health. Research largely backs this with evidence that hormone replacement therapy can alleviate symptoms of menopause, including hot flashes and night sweats (1,2).

More Energy

Debilitating fatigue and mental fog can disrupt your daily life. Restoring testosterone levels directly boosts stamina and drive, combating the deep-seated exhaustion many women feel. One 2022 article points to evidence that TRT can improve energy levels in women, noting that fatigue is a common symptom for women suffering from low T (3). A meta-analysis published in The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism found that while some women reported feeling more energetic, more research is needed (4).

For male patients, hormone pellets typically lasts 4 to 6 months.

For female patients, hormone pellets typically lasts 3 to 5 months.

Improved Sexual Health

Testosterone replacement therapy as it relates to sexual health is effective in boosting libido, increasing sexual desire, and enhancing arousal. Because of this consistent, steady release of hormones through pellet therapy, you’ll find balanced and sustained improvement in sexual function. Research backs this, suggesting that TRT is effective in treating women who experience a loss of sexual interest (3), as well as improve sexual function (5).

Better Bone Health

Estrogen replacement therapy may slow down the rate of bone loss that accelerates after menopause, while testosterone replacement therapy plays an important role in promoting new bone growth. One 2021 study published in Bone Reports found that hormone replacement therapy not only prevents post-menopausal bone loss, but also improves the quality of new bone being made (6). Other research also suggests that hormone therapy may help prevent bone loss that can occur after menopause (7).

Increased Mood

A consistent and steady release of testosterone and/or estrogen helps eliminate emotional peaks and valleys often associated with menopause and perimenopause. These mood swings can include irritability, anxiety, and depression. Many women experience a renewed sense of vitality, reduced stress, and a better quality of life.

One 2024 study found that women receiving hormone replacement therapy experienced better sleep and more stable moods (8), while another study published in the Journal of Psychiatric Research suggests that estrogen therapy may help combat depression and improve overall wellbeing (9).

Who Is a Good Candidate for Pellet Therapy?

Women who have been diagnosed with, or suspect, lower testosterone levels may be good candidates for testosterone replacement therapy. Symptoms include lower sex drive, difficulty with arousal, fatigue, mood changes, and reduced muscle mass, among other symptoms.

For estrogen replacement therapy, women experiencing menopausal symptoms of hot flashes, night sweats, and vaginal dryness may qualify as good candidates. Women who have had their ovaries removed, or with certain medical conditions, are also good candidates for estrogen replacement.
