TheraPellET’s Medical Director and Owner, Dr. Virden, has been published in the journal, The Aging Male. His research focuses on how the surface area of testosterone pellets is a more effective factor for successful treatment than the actual dose in treating men with low testosterone.
Research compared two groups of men being treated for low testosterone. One group received a smaller number of larger pellets, adding up to a higher total dose. The other received a larger number of smaller pellets, adding up to less hormone overall but with more total surface area exposed to the body. Over three months of monitoring, the group with more surface area saw higher hormone levels that stayed elevated longer than the higher-dose group. None of them experienced a pellet working its way back out through the skin, a complication that does happen with this kind of treatment.Â
The takeaway is straightforward: how a pellet is shaped and inserted can affect results as much as the dose itself. We built The Virden Methodâ„¢ around that same principle from the start, treating precision, pellet design, and insertion technique as central to the therapy.
The following clinical studies and peer-reviewed research demonstrate the safety and efficacy around bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, testosterone replacement therapy, estrogen replacement therapy, and more related topics. The safety and efficacy of our treatment approach relies on thorough research, and these studies show the impact such therapies can have on your quality of life.
